The Roots is a band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Currently the band has eight members. Their music is a mix of different influences of jazz, hip-hop, neo soul, funky and with a bit of eclectic approach. The Roots have served as the house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon since its premiere in 2009. The Roots formed and formed their band when they were in high school. They began playing in school and on the streets.
The Roots tour extensively and joined many popular music artists. The band featured in four movies playing as a band. Their song "The Notic" has been included in the Men in Black movie’s original soundtrack. The band also was featured in a kiddie show “Yo Gabba Gabba” performing "Lovely, Love My Family" in 2008. They have been nominate in many awards and bagged trophies including four Grammys. In January 2013, Questlove, (drummer)revealed that the band is currently making an album with Elvis Costello that is set to be released in late 2013 or early 2014. Overall, the band released thirteen albums.
